My Philosophy of Educational Technology

The purpose of educational technology is often described as "learning by doing". This purpose resonates with the most influential education theorist John Dewey’s philosophy. Dewey pioneered Progressive education which is essentially a view of education that emphasizes the need to learn by doing. Dewey believed that human beings learn through a 'hands-on' approach.
My philosophy is technology focused hands on learning. I believe the future of education is changing rapidly and adoption of technology is becoming necessity for educators. Technology is not only providing an advance platform for learning, but it is also providing tools which can make the learning interesting and fun. Augmented Reality is a powerful tool that I believe can revolutionize the face of the education and allows learner to interact, collaborate and immerse into the learning. The absorption of the knowledge will be greatly improved as the learners will learn by doing and Augmented Reality just serves this purpose.
Teaching is a great challenge and equally a joyful experience. To be a good educator, you must love teaching. I believe Augmented Reality and other Technology tools provide the medium which can bring the best outcome for both educators as well as learners.
In choosing to become an educator, I have made the commitment to myself and my future learners to be the best academic, personal, and ethical role model I can be. It is my goal to have a mutually enriching teaching career by keeping an open mind and continually communicating with my peers and students. I am prepared to rise to the challenges of teaching in the 21st century, and I promise to try to provide an honest, well-rounded technology infused education to every learner I encounter.
